1. A 2025 scoping review synthesized 18 peer-reviewed studies on the intergenerational transmission of corporal punishment.  It concluded: This is highly relevant to the hypothesis. Although the review did not measure guilt directly, greater approval of corporal punishment would be expected to reduce feelings of guilt when using it. 2. Attitudes appear to be the
